Hello RWG; new-old member checking in

Navichief

Hello,

I'm an old timer to the forums. I can't quite remember if I started with www.thereplicacollector.com (RIP) or RWG.

I have an old account on here but I'd like to consolidate to one username for reps. I'm Navichief on RWI, r/reptime, and currently Chief on Repgeek.

I'll be porting some of my content over to here. I've been increasing my watchmaking skills over the last few years, and I have some watchmaking related content to post.

Happy collecting everyone!

I'm positive I've learned a thing or two from your threads!

Here's some copy pasta from resources I've found helpful:

Here is a list of the online resources I've used for repair and servicing guides. I hope you find them helpful.

First is the ETA SwissLab interactive teaching series. You need to have a browser with flash for these, so the phone will not be the best. Flash based assembly and disassembly including part numbers, names, and oiling points. Just Awesome. I'm trying to figure out how to download these and make them available offline, but my internet game is not that strong apparently. Flash browser support is disappearing soon.

ETA 2892a2. Unfortunately not helpful for the more ubiquitous 2824 and 2836, but this movement does show up in some reps. This would also work for servicing the Omega 1120 and probably the Sellita SW-300 among others.

Direct download: (credit to the host, I couldn't crack the direct ETA download path)

The venerable 7750. This is in pretty much every rep chronograph watch other than the Rolex Daytona 4130.

Direct download:

The handwind 6497. Mostly in rep Panerai, the IWC FA Jones, and some others I can't think of at the moment.

Direct download:

Official ETA PDF service documents including parts, exploded diagrams, and oiling points. ETA themselves have since password protected these, so I recommend downloading them while they are still easily found elsewhere.

Here the best youtube service videos that I've found:

The single best watch repair channel. The author also has a great watch repair forum and sells an online watchmaking course. The 2824 service is particularly helpful, and he also reviews the asian clone movements. 7750 and Rolex 3135 services are also there.
