Your 3 best rep watches.

Recommended Posts

B168

Hi everyone!  I've tried to read all the Do's and Don'ts of this forum so I hope I'm not making a newbie mistake with this post.  I want to buy my first rep and instead of asking "Where can I find...", I thought I'd ask you guys the top 3 rep watches in your collections!  I said top 3 because I'm pretty sure a Rolex is going to be part of that list but I'd like to leave space for other watch brands.  Dress watches, sports, casual, whatever! And my only basis for your top 3 are the watches which you feel are nearest to the genuine and have stood the test of time in terms of reliability.  Just like in gen collecting, there are soooo many choices in the rep world.  I was just curious which watches you think are your best.  Pictures would be cool.  Thanks! :D

Just the one, and it’s as good as it gets .
Good luck finding one.

The best 3 (and all 3 can be found as reps) are the trilogy.

VC overseas, PP Nautilus & AP offshore.

Now, not all 3 wear as well as others so I usually pick from here...

@Phoenixboy  is that bronze?  I'm actually interested in bronze watches!  Something different from all the silver and gold.  Great patina!

@Mystery Shopper wow that's an eyefull!  Nice display case too!  And man that Uboat looks massive!

Sweeet! Wish I had wrists like you though. My skinny 6.3 inch can't rock that beautiful piece.

Seamasters? Amazing they can copy the etched wave dials, this will be an interesting hunt to find a good one. Thanks! :D

Sometimes the best in the collection isn't the best because it is the one with the least flaws. Sometimes it is the best because of the story that goes with it, Maybe it is because it was bought from a TD who was a character (Robert at PWC), it was serviced and relumed by a TD modder (Goin- making it so I can wear it anywhere) and then it had a pearl fixed by another great member (Kenny) and through all that it becomes a favourite. This is my 10 year old 116610 at the bottom of the pool.

Best to me isn’t necessarily the “very closest to gen” but close enough and ones I know I will never sell.

Rolex - should be the VSF 41mm sub but I prefer my 16610 LV, the modded 39mm explorer comes in close second.

Panerai- pam177, so simple and comfortable.

Omega- this is super tricky. Either my vsf green aqua terra all stock or the 42mm pumpkin Planet ocean with a bunch of gen parts on it.

Best three I've ever had, in terms of how close to gen?

Noob Panerai 111

ZF Blancpain 50 Fathoms

ZF IWC Mark XVII

Probably this is the best one I have that is totally unmodified and with Asian a07.111 clone

The next two on my list I am uncertain of.

a07.111 clone not a07.211 clone

@Mystery Shopper that's a very good point.  I've always adopted that philosophy with gen watches when people say stuff like "Oh I'm surprised you're wearing a (insert cheap to midrange watch)".  That's why I will compliment a complete strangers watch if it looks cool to me, hoping they'd give me the story behind it.  And seeing your rep underwater is amazing, so happy reps these days are waterproof to a certain degree!

@FudgyDocker oh my goodness that Breitling!  Ooooh a bronze Panerai?!  I love seeing bronze watches, something new (at least for me) compared to so much gold and steel.

@splke  thank you for saving me the time, those look awesome!  Omg that seamaster!  And the colors on your Tag, eye catching!
