Asian 2824-2

Recommended Posts

Hi All.  I received an 'Asian 2824-2' but upon checking with online images, it doesn't look like one (to my untrained eyes). It also did not come with the date wheel.

May I request your guidance/advise if this is indeed an Asian '2824-2' or some other movement?

Thank you in advance.

Definitively not an A2824, but also you have probably paid that crap around 25/30$ right? That one is something that probably has only the size of a 2824.

An A2824 costs at the very minimum ~55/60$...

I just got hit for around  $40, unfortunately

Yup, I compared the size to an ETA 2824-2 and they were almost the same size.

Oh well, lesson learned.

Thanks for your insights.

I've got a couple of those.  They sell them as a "replacement" for a 2824.  $25 or so.  When you wind them it feels like there is sand in the movement.

It's as if the gear teeth are sheared with every winding action :D

Would you know what movement this is a clone of?

Thanks.

No I don't.  Not sure they are a clone of anything.

They aren't clone of something. They are "fake Seagull ST2130" meaning they are piss-poor movements that kind of mimic the shape of the ST2130.

It's like:

Gen Rolex Daytona -> ETA 2824 / Sellita SW200

Clean Factory Daytona -> Seagull ST2130 or PT5000 (note the PT5000 is a 2824 clone produced by HK technologies and it's the 1st chinese movement to get the Chronometric certification!)

Naples 50€ Daytona with constantly running center second hand and days/months instead of the subdials -> that movement you bought :)

Can we guilt you into a Swiss SW200?
