Hi, Gang!  It's HUMPDAY today, so let's get goin'!

For today, this BRIETING SEA WOLF automatic on sailcloth strap. Dial face is a little brighter than normal, NBD, though. Automatic starts up as soon as it's handled, keeps good time & seconds hand as a smooth, although type of movement is unknown -- for now. dave:

BREITLING.SEA.WOLF.YELLOW.ON_SAILCLOTH.(Cheap)_011(2)

BREITLING.SEA.WOLF.YELLOW.ON_SAILCLOTH.(Cheap)_004(2)

BREITLING.SEA.WOLF.YELLOW.ON_SAILCLOTH.(Cheap)_007(2)

Very white indicators, look exactly same shade as the dial. Seem much whiter than my VSF.

What factory is it? ZF? Or is it a gen?

It's VSF and indicators are reasonably white but can appear slightly yellow/greenish in certain lighting conditions.

Hmm... what makes you say it's a service dial?...

Indeed 16800 service dials were supposed to be gloss (even if with Rolex you can never really tell). I took a wild guess just because the dark patina lume on the hands in my mind goes well with a tropicalized dial.  So I imagined that someone wanted to replace a tropical dial (back then when it was a bad thing) but balked at the likely cost of a full dial/hands overhaul at Rolex, asked their watchmaker for a cheaper solution and the latter found a used matt dial to swap in.

Of course, in reality the hands probably aged differently due to the known issue of inconsistent lume application at the factory. I

But, whether is a mid-life dial replacement dial or factory lume mismatch, this is how I would consider doing a rep., just because many gens have this "imperfection" to a degree or another.

By the way, it's a great watch, and the chipped dial makes the lume mismatch at the factory scenario the most likely by far, so enjoy it!

PAMSDAY, Folks!

Today, I'm wearing a different style of PAM -- one with a full faced dial. It's easier to read the dial and it's an automatic as well. It's only the straps I have a mild concern about their appearance. dave:
