AP Royal Oak Offshore diver repair

Recommended Posts

lobbyboy

Hi there,

I have an Offshore DIver i bought from Toro in 2013.  (I can't remember what movement is inside)

The watch still 'works' if i move it, but i can't set the time , it's spinning in the void. (i can still set the date for some reason)

Looking for someone in Europe to fix that for me.

Thank you

It can be either a watch based on 21j cheap movement or on a 2824 ETA clone. In the 1st case it's easier to just replace it. In the 2nd case a service will probably do better.

You look into the trusted dealers if there is some watch repairer around that can work on it.

Did you ever find someone to look T your watch ? I have a few AP Royal Oak offshores that need servicing but not had much success finding anyone to do them

Thank you for the replies.

What is the best way to check for the movement ?
(I think it was a MIYOTA9015 *4 Dials* From TF)

Never found anybody to help fix the watch, as of now.

Unscrew the caseback

move the plate out of the way

take picture

post here, or look up the difference in a photo. The spinny wheel thing (not the rotor, the wheel with the little spring attached) will be in a different location depending on the moment type.

If the seconds hand isn’t moving when you shake it
order new movement

send to watchsmith to repair.

If the seconds hand is running and it keeps good time, then it’s just a buggered keyless works that won’t let you set the time. Easy fix, probably new movement not required.
