Tissot PRX worth the hype? Quartz or Auto?

Recommended Posts

Not often do I get to pontificate but recently I had a splurge and these Prxs came into my possession . The Tissot PRX is part of the 70s retro integrated bracelet  crowd coming in 40mm Quartz and Auto and now 35mm Quartz

The 40mm quartz  comes in at 10.5 mm thick and the Auto is 11.2 mm, the usual Tissot  quality of finish is evident  with the quartz having a plain flat dial but the auto has the “Tapisserie" dial a' la AP Royal Oak and a silver edging round the date window.

There is a quick change system on the bracelet and a rather flimsy leather strap is available, however there is a system available for attaching normal straps which is a much better option.

Retail prices are Quartz £295, Auto Powermatic 80. £565.

Are they worth the Price?  I personally like the Green Powermatic 80  but I think the following make much better alternatives for the quartz.

The Accurist 7329 is a 40mm  integrated bracelet watch with a dark blue sunburst dial with a present retail of £49.95 !!!!!!

The new Accurist Origin 41 mm is a practical clone of the PRX with the three hander at £169 and the chrono (Quartz) at £209.

Sorry about the shit photos.

Good choice I went for the chronograph as it has a cracking green fume dial

The Green or Blue PRX 80 look amazing in my opinion

I really want a Zenith Defy Skyline in blue but at 12k AUD the Tissot will have to do for now...
