The factory just got busted according to my dhgate seller, but if you can find the reps with the alloy case and glass crystal, feels much better on the wrist.

Has anyone had a go at disabling the subdial that seems to have a mind of its own at 2pm?

I don't see any way to disable it.  It is a PE50 movement

You can't really get to the gear since its basically sealed in the movement.   Someone on RWI said they took it apart and plucked out the wheel that drives the 2 oclock subdial?  Maybe you can pop that plastic off and get to the gears but it seems a long shot getting it back together.  Maybe if you take the datewheel off you can get to the gear?

You could clip off the pinion and glue the hand to the dial but that's just butchering it and you would probably mess it up.  (see @Popperini for more detail)

Feel like a solid bezel...either plastic or metal...would make that piece super unique

A couple drops of superglue and it would not be an issue.

Here's the latest Mercury. Best damn rep purchase for 29€ :D I can see many updates over the previous ones. It feels like a toy and for some reason I love this thing :)
