VSF Omega Seamaster 300 - Crown won’t screw down

Recommended Posts

Chaps,

Recently purchased a white face Seamaster 300 on here and the crown has never been great.

Got it out of the box today and you just can’t screw the crown down.

You can get it to catch for about a quarter of a revolution but then it will pop back open while wearing it.

I was about to sell it on so any advice appreciated as to how to fix this prior.

Thanks,

Phil

Vsf planet oceans were renowned for stripped threads on the crown and/or tube. Probably what's happened here.

Cheapest and easiest fix is to cut down crown stem so crown sits flush against case but means it won't be watertight.

Otherwise it's a rather involved repair. New crown and tube and it's not a simple replacement.

Hmm, had a look on YouTube and that’s beyond my skill set.

I was going to move it on anyway so do I advertise it as is or does anyone have an idea how much it would cost me to have someone fix it?

cheers!
