Big hitting, well rounded collection?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I have been pondering a general collection of watches from some of the well known brands… I’ve always just bought whatever I liked without much thought on rotation and occasion. So I’ve banded a few models together with different styles and wondered if you’d change any for something similar in style? And why?

just for fun.

Haven’t had a Starbucks yet because I assume I prefer the Kermit.

Prefer the NTTD or ceramic.

Prefer explorer over DJ

Titanium 177 over SS

BB41 is a bit slab sided and the 58 wears really well

Bit more sporty but still dressy

Black seamaster always looked nicer on the wrist IMO  but the blue is iconic

I think if I was going for a full black it’ll have to be the Submariner, having said that, it would be too similar to the Starbucks.
I mainly added the sea master as it was blue, as you say, iconic.

You need a nice Planet Ocean instead of that old Wolex stuff

Maybe missing a Pelagos in there? And no Breitlings? I love the Chronomat B01, or an SO Heritage 2 maybe, if there can only be one.

Only missing a nice two tone mate, the rest look pretty solid.

That's a really good choice in my opinion, well done. Now that Monday's sorted, let's see your suggestions for Tuesday.

Just for fun, 4 dive watches, 1 daily beater and a stunning dress watch… what diversity?

I’ll have a go: 1 conversation starter, 1 digi, 1 chronograph, 1 dive watch, 1 dress watch, 1 daily beater…

The BB58 is probably my favorite all time rep. 7 inch wrist here.

I had the 3714 and sold it keeping my 5001/7 with rose gold numerals. I thought it was a lot nicer watch. YMMV

I sold all my Omega SMP's, I like the Noob PO 1948 better.

I went with the smurf and the Wimbledon, so you have both of those covered. Grape OP is really nice too.

I like but don't have the blue JLC Polaris, that is a good combo dress / jeans watch.

If you like perpetuals, the VC 56 is the best IMO. Perfect size, very comfortable and the shape looks really great on the wrist. Definite exterior tell on those though, if that is important.

At this point, I've pretty much tried every style of rep that appeals to me.  I've frankened a few but now moving closer to the gen world instead.  I don't think I'll ever sell my franken 126610LV, and I have a frankened 16803 that I absolutely love.  Been thinking about selling that and one of my other gens to fund a 16613 in the future.  I like the quirkiness of some Franck Muller watches, but it comes and goes.  The thing I find myself coming back to is the reason I (along with 90% of people) get into rep watches and that's Rolex.  Call me boring.

Right now, out of the watches I have, I think my ideal would be

Seawolf II
The baseball strapped fiddy homage (I've worn this watch to a world series and my son and I both really like it)
16750
126610LV
PanomaticLunar
FM Vanguard
Some two tone 116503 Daytona, I have a second one being built by MR right now, maybe both?
Maybe the 16600?

add in a 16613 and I think I'd be happy.  For now.
