I have a few old Omega Constellations … one way to assess the wear is to check the stars on the back - the 18k versions wear much more than the 14k ones because the metal is harder. 
If the stars are not worn out it is a good sign because  many of the vintage casebacks stars have rubbed away on older solid gold models

My No3 watchbox has yielded up the Chinese version of a Longines , the Guanqin ( I don't know how to pronounce it either!) they do a good copy of the Longines   master  Calendar as well saving £3140 :D
