Rep Omega “clone” movements

Recommended Posts

JASPER185

Hi All, just wondering about the “clone” omega movements used in better grade Omega SM, VSF etc.  There seems to be some reports of these movements being difficult / impossible to service or repair in that parts aren’t readily available.  There are others that say these movements are in effect decorated Asian clones of ETA’s and pretty normal in terms of part’s availability.  Hoping for a bit of advice as I’m all about avoiding a timebomb type movement!  Are there any better than others?

My VSF 8900 died and one of the trusted techs on RWI looked at it and said he couldn't fix it and my TD could not get a replacement movement.

It is a mix of parts and there is no guide.

I really wish it was a clone ETA, it was one of my favorites. 1e3a2ffec80a0cb58497a2fdc8f37df2.jpg4149a401632933b7674066f20e136fd6.jpg
