opus9 0 Posted July 14, 2011 I recently acquired a Pam 358.I have been wearing as a daily since arrival last week.Yesterday upon moving my arm,I heard a knocking sound sound.I am lucky that I have a display case back and can see the rotor is slightly loose and rests upon the glass. It is fully attached still but a little 'flappy' creating the knocking sound when it touches the glass back case. Can this be easily fixed,or should I take it to a watch-smith for repair? regards opus9

Get a small screwdriver in hand (even an eyeglass repair kit one will work for this). Screw in the rotor screw. Snug it down but no gorilla strength needed! Center caseback with fingers until threads catch. Get ball of duct tape in hand. Smash tape onto caseback and screw it in until tape starts slipping. Put away screwdriver Throw out wadded up duct tape. Drink beer. Put Panerai on wrist and enjoy.

MikeMcNair 0 Posted July 14, 2011 absolutely agree, you can do this bro!!! one question i have for you is: does the screw in the middle have one SMALL but not TINY screw holding the rotor or 3 TINY ones? if the latter, may need to be pressed on, which is equally as easy. Set hole in rotor over shaft and align Get a thin wooden dowel in hand (An unsharpened pencil will do). Press rotor straight down onto shaft. Push it down solidly but no gorilla strength needed! Center caseback with fingers until threads catch. Get ball of duct tape in hand. Smash tape onto caseback and screw it in until tape starts slipping. Drink beer Put away pencil Drink beer Throw out wadded up duct tape. Drink beer. Put Panerai on wrist and enjoy.

gB. 0 Posted July 15, 2011 VERY important to follow SFA's sequence of instructions exactly. If you jump to the beer first, you might get a little giddy and employ said guerilla strength unnecessarily, causing some damage (not that I know anything about that ). Patience and the beer will be the reward afterwards. :P
opus9 0 Posted July 15, 2011 nope still wobbling like crazy..three screws in the center of the rotor..perhaps if I can find a screw driver small enough(tiny tiny) then they can be tightened? regards opus9
