MoonSwatch Metal Mod Showcase

You can get the moonswatch reps from dhgate. watches_77 is the best vendor. Alaska is the Mission to Mars.
Then you need a VK63 case from AliExpress. Many vendors. 5 bezel insert colors exist.
you need PE50 stems from AliX or eBay. PE50 is the movement of the rep. (mind you the movement subdials don’t match the gen features)
You need a custom movement holder to secure the rep movement into the vk63 case. We have set up a small team US&EU in RWI where we provide those holders for free (albeit people pay shipping). Or you can 3D print them yourself
depending on the case, sometimes the pushers are too short, so an adapter of sorts is needed to make the chrono work.
Give it a shot. it’s a fun build and you only need basic tools. the rest is just creativity for design.

I wouldn’t wven mind printing my own adapter if you guys share the file. The project is great. Thank you for sharing. E

Where or how are you making the ultraman or even this dial?

Do you have a link for the snoopy built?

Has anyone tried doing a transplant using a gem Moonswatch?

EDIT: wait a minute.... did you froze the right subdial?

Is there a writeup for that? That's my main issue with this rep that I cant stand.

1. I mod the dials and hands. this one is hand painted and then « aged textured » with matte varnish mist.

2. See pic. not my work and I dislike the oyster endlinks, but you get the idea.

Ksu7gW.jpeg

3. Not worth it. the gen moonswatch cannot be disassembled. You need to destroy the case…But you can replace the rep Pe50 with an ETA G10.211 which has the right functions

4. Yes, frozen. Painful work. You need to remove the date wheel and the movement cover, then take out a wheel, and glue the 2H pinion wheel. The rep movement is cheapo plastic. I trashed many…and I know what I am doing.

5. Another method that i used here, is to snap off the 2H pinion, enlarge the hands hole and glue with hypocement. that’s much simpler to do.

Is the ETA G10.962 the moon phase variant?

Yes indeed. When all goes well, it’s fun and relaxing as creativity takes over…until you need to handle the issues of some of the reps

Wow! That vintage build is amazing. Would you mind sharing where you got that case? It’s exactly the style I’m looking for.

Currently working on a source for the movement holders since I don’t have a 3D printer. Which version of those sti files do you recommend, or will any one of them work with most vk63 cases with a little modification?

It’s a Pagani 1766

however, you need to swap the crystal as it’s too low for the rep. The rep dial is also too small, so you need to get creative

I have used the Pagani spacer, reinforced with fishline and a custom made metal spring to hold the movement flush

I am a hobbyist only and I do mostly iaffordable builds ranging from the Metal MoonSwatches, 4-5 digits Rolex and Omega vintages Constellation / Railmaster etc

I have fun making them and then I sell  them off  on RWI. They usually sell within the day.
Some, like this one, I keep for me.
