Straight swap, except central hands

subdial hands same

I've managed to get hold of a cheap Swatch Irony for its g10 movement......which I plan to build into a Pagani 1766 metalcase (using the broad arrow hands).

With the Irony all stripped down - I notice the Swatch dial has no feet (and no corresponding holes in the movement).  Presumably I need to snip the rep dial feet off and add some notches to the dial to allow it to fit to the g10 movement?

-test the dial without the mvt in the case. See if it fits or if it’s a bit small for the dial seat

-then test your spacer. If you are lucky, either the swatch spacer or the pagani space will work

For the dial, my advice is to glue it to the ETA using quick set epoxy, taking care to center the dial properly with the sub dial pinions dead center. Dead center or the subdials won’t work

also, I would suggest the 2H subdial freeze.

finally, the Nh35 broad arrow minute and hour hands will work . You will have to modd the seconds

for the subdials, you can find leaf sword small hands on Cousins UK

Yep - sounds good.  I've trimmed off the small plastic tabs on the eta movement that locate the dial so I can glue it direct (and the dial sits flat on the movement).

The Pagani 1766 that I have uses the vk64 movement which according to some googling has the same minute and hour hand sizes as the eta g10 - so I can repurpose the broad arrow hands.  Seconds hand pinion is smaller on the g.10 but that's good - means I can crimp the Pagani seconds hand it to fit.

Subdial hands are found and currently sitting in my basket on Cousins, as are eta g.10 stems.

I think there are stem position issues so may need a spacer to lower the movement slightly to allow the stem to line up with the crown tube..........and need to 3D print a movement ring too.

No need to freeze the 2h though as it's the eta - it's got correct 1/10 sec functionality - checked that's all working on the donor movement which is good.  I did strip a PE50 movement over xmas (that I managed to bust a stem off in) and I think I can see how to do the freeze OK.  Ordered a few spare PE50s from ALiExpress to have a play with........seeing as they're about £3.50 each!

Thanks for the help! I may post a few pics of progress if that may help others?

I forgot to tell you. I thought of it when you were talking about the cannon pinion

important detail.
the hands won’t clear the pagani crystal !

which is good as the 1957 did not have glass.

you need either to buy a high dome acrylic OR trim down the rep crystal. This way you get the « S » etched on the middle of the crystal   ;)

Firstly thanks to @karbon74 for the guidance and advice throughout this thread.

Inspired by that I thought I'd have a go at one of these over the Christmas break so I collected the donor, case, stems and movement holder for DH and Ali, I'm into it for around 60 bucks Australian, nothing to loose if I fuck it up.

I was pretty deflated when the doner Moonswatch arrived, what a hateful piece of shit that was, however no more than 15 mins later the transformation was truly amazing. This thing is honestly  one of my favourite watches now.

The gap looks visible between the endlink and the first link.

Is there any semi decent rep bracelet that would fit Uncle Seiko endlinks?

Those are the Pagani endlinks on the US bracelet

Indeed there is a gap, but honestly, on wrist it’s not obvious

Interesting, thanks for confirming.

I was just wondering if the way around was possible being cheaper somehow: US endlinks with cheap bracelet from Pagani or watchdive for instance

Another option is to use the stock Pagani.

you will need to thin it using a belt sander, and mod the butterfly clasp to a deployant

There are two types, maybe even three

look at the videos on the listing

the difference is a flat dome crystal or a top hat

I think one of the listings is their v1

those AliX shops do a poor job at managing their storefront

Thanks!...you are correct .

This is my first build and so far the hardest part is using the AliX website. lol

I ordered 5 reps and one of the popular VK63 cases. The case has not arrived yet but i already know I will not like the 15mm thickness...

Any advice for finding a 13mm thick case that would work?

If you take the flat dome Bliger, it’s quite alright.

the thinnest case was the Pagani V2 homage but hard to get now. But still 14mm

don’t worry about this, it’s really ok on wrist

If really you want to gain 0.5mm maybe a bit more, you can sand down the caseback.

wedge a cork inside the caseback inside to get a good grip, and sand it flat on a 120 grit wet sandpaper. mind you it will take a good hour.

Or you can use an electric sander if you have one. Careful about those fingers and protect your eyes.

Once you have taken off the necessary thickness, buff it down with increasing grit 400, 800, 1500 to remove all asperities.

then you can either mirror polish, or you carefully brush it in one direction straight one way only with 600 grit.

Hey man, love all the watch builds! Where do you get the crown with the omega logo? Does it come with that crown when you buy the case on AliExpress? I ask because I bought one and my crown didn’t come with the logo. Thanks!

Only just found this thread after seeing a metal case mod on Reddit. I've already got reps fo the mercury, moon, mars, snoopy and all black, but ordered ordered the mission to the sun, and a pagani pd1701 in the pepsi style

Hoping this works
