Del 4,375 Posted July 22, 2011 Excellent tutorial Silver - thanks for posting. However, a little word of caution. If you open up your watch and check all these things and it still develops a fault a short time later then you may have invalidated your warranty from the Trusted Dealer because you already opened it. It is entirely possible that the movement could develop a fault even although you have inspected it - not all potential issues will be visible without taking the movement apart. Unless you are skilled in watch repairs and will never return a faulty watch in any case, perhaps it would be wise to wear the watch for a week or a month or whatever to ensure that there are no obvious running problems before opening it up to inspect the movement?? Just a thought...
Silverspeed 10 Posted July 23, 2011 I doubt removing a caseback to check for dust will invalidate any warrenty....as long as you don't tear it apart and then start complaining it doesn't work anymore...you'll be fine
pamelo 0 Posted July 25, 2011 From my brief experience, all the trusted sellers should warranty their watches with Mike McNair. That will save postage fees for both sellers and buyers should the watch need to be returned for repair. I know a couple of the sellers have already done this. I believe silix and mary. It clearly benefits US buyers to be dealing with sellers warranteed with Mike.

UmpaHimself 222 Posted June 1, 2012 "Now it's time to check the movement tab screws, a check if the hairspring isn't tangeled and quick look with the eye loupe for dust, pubichairs etc....." Is there any way you could go into a bit more detail about this step? I've never really done anything like that to any of my watches.
