It is a LOT heavier than the SeaDweller - don't know about DeepSea, but definitely heavier than ANY Rolex I have held..... Thing weighs about the same as my Super Avenger. P_Diddy 0 Posted July 15, 2009 (edited) Has anyone bought any of Lawrence's 'budget' PAM watches circa $80? Some of them seem 'very good value' and what is the quality like, the lume any good? ^_^ Got a gut feeling that HOS is better QC than WatchEden on side note anyone tried navigating Hont's website, bloody nightmare! trailboss99 994 Posted July 15, 2009 Both HOS and PWC's budget offerings are great value for money. I'd use either well before WE personaly. Col.
P_Diddy 0 Posted July 15, 2009 what is the lume like on both HOS & PWC? Assume both Lawrence and Robert source from same factories? Both HOS and PWC's budget offerings are great value for money. I'd use either well before WE personaly. Col.

Yeah, I'd MUCH rather buy from Lawrence than WatchEden. As with most sites, some of the budget models are better than others although Lawrence doesn't the real junk you'll sometimes find at WE. Don't expect much in the way of lume on the average $80 model, though. Bear in mind it's also worth asking Robert about budget PAMs - if there's a good version at a cheap price, he's the guy most likely to have it IME. Which one are you thinking of? P_Diddy 0 Posted July 15, 2009 these two 40mm babies from Lawrence PAM 110 PAM 015 wonder if Lawrence can fit a deployant clasp to the PAM 015 for the same price? What are your opinions on these two PAMs from a PAM expert view AND then from a homage perspective? Any glaring flaws? cheers PD Bear in mind it's also worth asking Robert about budget PAMs - if there's a good version at a cheap price, he's the guy most likely to have it IME. greg_r 81 Posted July 15, 2009 There aren't really any decent budget 40mm PAMs around at the moment - not much in more expensive ones either that I've seen. I personally wouldn't buy either of those. The black face one has an incredibly thin crown. The white face has a slightly better crown/cg (still not great, but better), but the second hand positioning is about a mile too far east The best of the budget PAMs are the 44mm handwinds - you can't go too far wrong with those. Robert'll sell you a great 111 or 113 for $99. There are some reasonable budget 44mm autos around too, but they're mostly not as good as the handwinds. houndoggie 58 Posted July 15, 2009 I don't think that the 015 is that bad.. The crown is a pizza cutter, but otherwise it's okay.
greg_r 81 Posted July 15, 2009 I don't think that the 015 is that bad.. The crown is a pizza cutter, but otherwise it's okay. The 015 is certainly the better of the two, I'll admit. I just hate the feel of 'em when adjusting the watch - makes 'em feel cheap and nasty imho. But maybe that's just me...

trailboss99 994 Posted July 15, 2009 Think I'l wait and see what Robert comes up with on his sterile site. I'm leaning towards a PVD 44mm sandwich dial so I can dose it with black lume and fit a blk ammo strap with a CF NATO as an option. The total balckout look suits these so well. Col.
