Thinking of buying a Patek Philippe but need advice

Hi,

 

I'm thinking of buying a Patek Philippe from Mary. I can get one of the watches I am interested in from Silix for $228 and Mary says the same one should cost roughly $290. Apparently hers has a newer movement, hence the greater price. Is it worth paying the extra or is the Silix model worth getting (bearing in mind I am looking for a decent watch which will run well and hopefully last a while).

not a fan of the watch, especially the silix version.

 

The Patek Nautilus reps are all the rage now, as they are very well done.

I would prefer one with a leather strap similar to this. I've sent a few pics to Mary. Is $290 likely to be a decent price for her reps? How good are reps of these kind of Patek Philippes?
