Pre-order the new 005m. Perfect Pam in my opinion (if you can only buy one!) 111m is also sweet!! Only buy H-factory versions though

As far as movement reliability, they are all generally solid movements... the H-factory 6497 movements seem to have less stringent build quality, hence more people are reporting problems with them. Honestly, it can be hit or miss with any Chinese movement you get and usually a simple servicing is all that is needed to get them running long and strong.

So.. I recommend any of the H-factory PAMs, any of the a7753 Pam reps, any of DSN's reps, and also the 312/328L reps. The 288, 253, 212 are excellent as well.

HD is right the 312 combines the best features from Panerai....

1950 case, slightly domed crystal, sandwich dial, date function without cyclops

44mm case with 24mm lugs.

Looks great with thick straps. I tend to prefer the more refined looking straps.

090 is better - has cyclop and power reserve indicator, very useful thing.

Last I checked, Lay, Josh, and Andrew all have the 312 with a 7750 movement. I think Lawrence had it as well. Josh and Andrew also have it with a seagull movement, I believe (I think this is an older version).
