ALG Watchbox

Mystery Shopper

I bought my first watch box last week and it arrived today. Months ago, I read through this section of the forum and wondered if I would ever need one of these. After much reading, I asked a couple of members for advice and finally decided on this from Australian Luxury Goods (ALG). I had two reasons for buying this:

1. I was usually wearing my automatic watches in favour of the quartz and manual wind watches just to keep them wound up.

2. Our bedside dresser was clogged with watches and we wanted some space back.

The transaction was meant to be. After some previous browsing- I stumbled across an ebay auction with 5 mins to go. Purchased Friday, shipped Monday, arrived Wednesday, set up today. ALG are based in Sydney so the box was supplied with the correct connections for Australia. This is some of the blurb from the ALG site.

1. Put the watch on the watch winder;

2. Plug the AC adaptor into the back of the winder;

3. Turning the control switch knob on the back of the winder;

4. There are 4 modes for the programmable microprocessor to control the time interval of winding cycle as follows:

Mode 1 6 Minutes time interval for every 2 minutes clockwise winding.

Mode 2 6 Minutes time interval for every 2 minutes counter clockwise winding.

Mode 3 6 Minutes time interval for every 2 minutes Counter clockwise winding;

+ 6 Minutes time interval for every 2 minutes clockwise winding.

Mode 4 180 Minutes time interval for every 10 minutes bi-direction winding.

(Cycle will be repeated until power off)

For any winding mode, the rotator (noise level below 5dB)Will turn 6.5-8.0 turns/minute

Note: The watch winder do not contain any watches

Well it didn't when it arrived but it does now. I loaded it with some of our watches. I say some because a couple of my Panerai did not fit (26mm buckle is too wide) and my IWC is too high to wind with the lid down. Next the pics.

Much excitement when this arrived

Very nice Scott, looks sensational. The hardest part now is alternating the watch collection so they all get a wind on a regular basis!!

Nice, I have the same one. Do you have issues with the larger watches rubbing the top of the plexi?

Yes, the Big Pilot sits too high to wind with the lid down.

What a great watch box and winder!

Thanks Del. I know I don't have to keep most wound but I choose to. Hey, if I was totally normal, I wouldn't spend so much time here!!

The hardest part now is alternating the watch collection

Will have to make space for 3 more as well. 1680, Cartier bubble (MrsM) and Patak Nautilus all on the way.
