therockerz 0 Posted August 14, 2011 Hello. I read a lot of posts on how their watch movement ended up having hair, dirt, or as I was told - rice! Since (unfortunately) it is impossible to know the condition of the movement, I want to know if is possible to just check it by opening the case back and look if there are any? If it does end up being dirty, how does one clean it? Also - is it necessary or worth it to avail for the pre-service option or servicing of NEW watches (I am planning to get a clone ETA 2836)? Thanks a lot for your replies!
wat44 0 Posted August 14, 2011 Roberts pre-service is the only one I would use
houndoggie 58 Posted August 14, 2011 I've owned at least a hundred reps of all movement types and have had maybe 10 bum movements that needed some work...for what is worth. Roberts preservice is the only I'd trust and a really good value. Don't get overly hung up in the details... Reps are meant to fun. If you are agonizing about stuff already, itll be a bumpy ride. Luthier 1 Posted August 14, 2011 I'm sure Robert and Mary open the watch before shipping, don't know about others.
therockerz 0 Posted August 14, 2011 (edited) I'm sure Robert and Mary open the watch before shipping, don't know about others. That's amazing to know :( Problem solved then. Thanks. Edited August 14, 2011 by therockerz
