houndoggie 58 Posted July 26, 2009 Since the rage for sterile and homage pieces is at new heights and Robert claims that many different ones could be done easily, please let them know what you want to buy here! IWC 3714 (like the PARNIS that AT has) with the PR and seconds at 6- 21j, sterile and in all the dial, hand, number combos. More Sterile PAM subs. A Big Pilot PR style with no date. A Sterile XL Railmaster. and lots, lots more.
phaedo 0 Posted July 26, 2009 +1 for a big pilot, but with a date function - I can't live without them. I would quite like to see something else made with the crazy hours movement too, sterile, but in a different casing.
AustinTech 0 Posted July 26, 2009 I agree with your 4 Houndoggie. I'll add: Cartier Santos Bell & Ross - 46mm - with good AR
houndoggie 58 Posted July 26, 2009 I agree with your 4 Houndoggie. I'll add: Cartier Santos Bell & Ross - 46mm - with good AR Have you ever worn a 46mm B & R??? They are ginormous.. the 42mm is plenty big. I like the Santos idea.
AustinTech 0 Posted July 26, 2009 No, I actually haven't worn one before. Time to go to the AD... 46mm square does seem large...
houndoggie 58 Posted July 26, 2009 I'd also like to see just about every Patek, Breguet, Sohne, Chronoswiss, IWC, and VC dress watch done sterile.
alphakazi 0 Posted July 26, 2009 I'd like to see specifically some Hublots, AP and Uboat, not very common watches around these parts. An homage/sterile Breitling, Rolex or PAM will have a much higher chance (especially Breitling at an airport) of someone calling you out and having to explain what it is - which is fine, I don't mind but I rather have someone just admire the watch for a watch Some people get so caught up in fakes and make the generalization that anything not from the original "brand" is somehow junk. It's only usually true
PatronSaintofChainsaws 1 Posted July 26, 2009 Bell & Ross - 46mm - with good AR JacksonTSE has a couple of B&R Chrono homages. Not sure of the size though.
Luthier 1 Posted July 26, 2009 Have you ever worn a 46mm B & R??? They are ginormous.. the 42mm is plenty big. No, and never will. It's ugly, IMO.
JohnG 41 Posted July 26, 2009 Sterile Fiddy (I have mini-Fiddy case on the way, later will go full size) Sterile Ingy - wouldn't that be cool? Sterile Slytech Sterile Pam Flyback Chrono (253/212 aren't they?) - with fully custom sandwich dial (stealth lume with tick marks only no numerals) - this is a grail of homages for me. Will have to make it myself, no problem. But I ain't payin for a rep to sterilize, will see if Jackson Tse can get me a case set...
trailboss99 994 Posted July 26, 2009 Sterile BBs would be great! The Railmaster as well since they look great rebranded like the RWG Colaberation1. SOH would be another good one IMO also the PO. Col.
greg_r 81 Posted July 26, 2009 I agree with your 4 Houndoggie. I'll add: Cartier Santos Bell & Ross - 46mm - with good AR Have you ever worn a 46mm B & R??? They are ginormous.. the 42mm is plenty big. I like the Santos idea. I have a 46mm B&R - and it IS enormous. It wears much larger than a 47mm PAM for some reason and I've come to the conclusion that it's too big for me. It'll be going at some point.
Harley357 0 Posted July 26, 2009 A sterile Vintage Seamaster 300 in a 43/44mm case!
Member X 91 Posted July 27, 2009 +1 for the XL Railmaster, 46mm and 42mm B&Rs (Stainless + decent PVD (or DLC?) with correct sweep), and a BP (with superlume)! I also would like the Portuguese IWCs in Sterile Dial (3714 is it? and the 1939). I'm sure there's more, I will think on it today...
greg_r 81 Posted July 27, 2009 Like AT, I'd love a homage Santos (doesn't have to be sterile). I was looking at a Rotary lookalike in the local AD a couple weeks back and was very tempted - might yet buy it once I recover from my recent PAM frenzy . A sterile Breit SOH or Flying B (latest non-chrono model in auto or the chrono version in quartz) would be interesting, too.
The_Monkey 0 Posted August 6, 2009 All either sterile or homage 7750 AP ROO running seconds @ 9 (for reliability) with a dial that reflects that. 7750 HBB ST-19 based 1969 Tag Monaco homage (probably not going to happen but I can dream) 7750 Navitimer (slide rule could be handy) Crazy Hours jumbo FM Vegas in a jumbo case Various combinations of SS/Ti/PVD/YG/RG Pam homages (think 172) Graham Chronofighter
Member X 91 Posted August 6, 2009 The 7 hand longines one is what I've been looking at recently and liking, but not for the £2k they're asking in the shop... lol If that was repped full stop then it'd be good!
JohnG 41 Posted August 6, 2009 Don't know if it has been said, but sterile Pilot Chrono...
The_Monkey 0 Posted August 16, 2009 One of these (jacking PWC's pic off RG) As far as I can tell it's a fantasy model as a Glashutte but it's still a seriously badass, complicated watch at a killer price, so let's strip that branding off and drop the price down into the <$100 range. phaedo 0 Posted August 20, 2009 One of these (jacking PWC's pic off RG) That's disturbing, jacking off a picture. But at least it was just the picture and not PWC himself...
Dr.Manhatten 0 Posted August 25, 2009 vintage submariner, sea dweller sterile dials , quality though. would be leet to just be able to have the cases and buy insert crystal crown tube dial from ebay. movements from ottofrei :(
