Akira 0 Posted August 21, 2011 Hi guys, today I received a watch from a friends wife. A quartz Cartier in pretty bad shape....she bought it off a pawn shop for around 700EUR The strap is awfull cheap quality. It stopped working after about 2 weeks....My guess is it could be just the batterie, but I don't know for sure. Anyways do you guys think its even a gen? Thanks for your help Akira
pollux1 3 Posted August 21, 2011 To my ( albeit untrained ) eye it looks gen.
NFleischer 4,355 Posted August 21, 2011 I hope so - for 700E it better!
myaz 3 Posted August 21, 2011 wonder if it's a cheap promo item that went along with their "Must" line. The crown color doesn't match the case. Argent plaque or on the case back would mean gold plated silver, well the 925 stamp gave that away.
Akira 0 Posted August 21, 2011 Found on Chrono24.com They go from 700€ - 1200€ Caseback looks different on this particular one, but I guess it's gen afterall
prestigewatchco 2 Posted August 21, 2011 700 Euro was all the money to pay Le must de Cartier is to Cartier like Tudor is to Rolex If it has Le Must de Cartier on the dial it's gold plated rather than gold

Well, it's not in the best shape and I doubt the strap is genuine. 700EUR is not cheap, but at least not a total ripp-off
prestigewatchco 2 Posted August 21, 2011 It's old as well over 20 years judging by the case back they have used the word Vermeil since the early 90's Band on it originally would have been gen croc The cases are 20 micron so gold plate lasts ages on these particularly as they were plated over silver base
ThinkBachs 1 Posted August 21, 2011 There is no doubt it is a gen.
