Crusader 0 Posted August 23, 2011 If you like it, then go ahead. I prefer to match SS bracelet with SS watch and the other way around

MikeMcNair 0 Posted August 24, 2011 Would likely look pretty iffy... sorry to contradict greg, but there is a way to make a nice brushed SS bracelet match a titanium head. step 1) find motor oil that is USED step 2) heat SS as a whole to an almost RED HOT but NOT QUITE THERE temp. step 3) drop SS in in used oil, allowing the carbon deposits to seep into the SS step 4) enjoy your new DARK GREY (titanium look) bracelet. BUT DO NOT TOUCH IT, cause that shit is hot, literally. it works, i have worked with metal for MANY years, and 316 (L&F) take up carbon very well, so it works on reps very well. if you would like, i can demonstrate in the next day or two, as i have a breitling bracelet that is 316L, and since it is virtually useless to me, i can use some old motor oil i have laying around to show the results. sometimes, it takes one or two heating/dipping processes to make it perfect. if you guys wanna see it, let me know. ThinkBachs 1 Posted August 24, 2011 Don't try this on the watch head either, jeje. Why not a watch case? Love the idea, I'll have to see if I can find some old oil to practice with.

Uhm... but the question asked was whether a SS bracelet would look daft with a Ti watch (which it would), NOT how to make SS look more like Ti. Interesting idea, though. The question is going to be how closely you can match the colour...
