tesmith2112 0 Posted September 2, 2011 This is a very unique looking watch. At 44MM it has an impressive wrist presence. The main dial is a 21J automatic, I think the moon phase dial on back is quartz driven, but must have a bad battery considering it doesn't work. I'm not even sure how to open it to replace the battery. I would appreciate some help if anyone knows.
Silverspeed 10 Posted September 2, 2011 From what I know to replace the battery on this is quit a bit of a task. It's certainly no where near as straight forward as on a regular movement. I'd guess you need to take out the movement completely and somehow separate the two movements.....not sure though just a guess. Might be best to leave it as it is. tesmith2112 0 Posted September 2, 2011 Thanks for the advise. Yes, I think I will leave it alone. It's not like I would ever use the bottom dial anyway.

Luthier 1 Posted September 2, 2011 Yes, the watch on the back is the quartz. You need a new battery. Back could be open with thin knife. There's no thread. But it's tricky task...
