Heuer 844 Diver

Gents,

I stumbled across these Heuer and Tag Heuer 844 series subs the other day on ebay. Theyre great looking, run an eta auto movement and the case diameter is a respectable 42mm. The best part is they can be had for under a grand.

My question is, whats the catch?

I don't think there is a catch. I think anywhere between $500-1000 is reasonable for a mid-80s Heuer (or TAG).

Okay so I've got two of these puppies on the way :thumbsup2:;):D

I bought the 844/4 which is the last of the Heuers and then stumbled across a cheap 844/5 which is the first of the Tag Heuer branded pieces. Not quite sure how I'll explain the outlay to Mrs RSEA!!

Reminds me of my first Heuer. Bought this one 26 years ago, and wore it for probably 16 of those years. Was gutted when it leaked in the swimming pool in '94. Had to have a new movement fitted and the bastards at what was by then Tag Heuer replaced the original dial with its Heuer logo with a new dial featuring the Tag Heuer logo. I was absolutely fecking furious at the time.

if watches could talk then this one could tell some interesting tales.

Bastards!! I'd have gone completely off the deep end

Sean - Hang tight for the autos. Quartz are for donkeys. Search for Heuer diver, professional and obviously 844 but don't buy any /1, /2 or /3 they're mine :thumbsup2:
