Silix Omega PO (UPO)

Recommended Posts

dave47

Hi, Gang!

For Wednesday, my Silix $30 special -- Omega PO (or UPO). For its price, it's a good looker (99.999% rule), keeps good time, is comfortable, with an easy-to-read dial. (Sorry for the dark pics; forgot to turn up the lights, sheesh!) dave:

That's a good deal, but it's not the UPO.

Thanks for the clarification, N., as I really have no clue. I'm still trying to learn the differences & have been having trouble. For the record, WHY is this NOT a UPO? (Really!)

the U is for ultimate, I believe and this is no ultimate for 30 bucks. Good lookin' watch for the price though.

U stand for Ultimate, mean - best of the beasts.

Don't expect anything even close to UPO for $30.

HE valve is off, DW is off, but again - great watch for the money.

Enjoy!

(1). To Luthier and others: Thanks for the info. I had no clue and have absolutely no problem saying that (and "I don't know." I'm here to enjoy and LEARN.) You're both very helpful and appreciate it.

(2). HOW did my post end up in General Discussion? I thought I had clicked on "Eye Candy!" Geeze! They're gonna come and take me away to the Happy House... . Many apologies... .

Good little cheapie ,I've had one for months but not water resistant in the slightest.I took a look inside mine, the case back came off by hand ,there was no o ring,I replaced and greased that and crown seal and tightened all back up.Still leaks so must be the crystal, cant be bothered for the price ,just wear and enjoy for what it is and take it off when you lass makes you do the washing up.

This forum rocks!

I am a noob and was looking into buying the following watch http://www.silix-prime.com/ome149-p-4526.html

Just to see how it goes. I asked Silix a few questions and they were very nice quick and responsive but I would like a watch that can be a bit more reliable than what is described above.

I am afraid of spending 300 bucks on a watch and the thing being as bad as the 30 dollars one though.

Wold any one have any recomendation of a nice seamaster?

Thank you,

Seiti

Happy Feet!

Sadly! But a bargain indeed. How much is a simple bracelet if you need one?! And you get a free 2813 as bonus!
