Really really beautiful watch VDB! I love the lume, the movement, the strap, the hands, EVERYTHING.... @Massimo, I have been reading, and the parts for most of these movements (the Elgin especially) are not hard to find. You can even find NOS parts for the Elgin 17j 16 ligne movements... Seen quite a few for sale since I started looking. The most common SERIOUS problem is the "balance staff" (the axis shaft for the balance wheel) breads because they didn't have shock protection still. JohnG 41 Posted July 31, 2009 Also, Massimo, I found a tutorial on fixing hair springs - even bent, tangled ones can be fixed often times, but I guess there is one kind that is easier (or less hard) than the other kind.... I've been hankering after a pocket watch, don't know why since I'd never wear it, but I'd had my fingers burned with an old 20s Trench Watch that I couldn't get fixed, so have been cautious since. JohnG 41 Posted August 1, 2009 I am going to pick this up from Burgeon - was going to ask after dial only, but then thought, hey, the watch is what I need: Dial, 47mm Radiomir case, Dome acrylic crystal, I can pull the 6497 in it and sell it for $25 shipped no problem, reduces my cost on the watch by half (if no one bids and right now 0 bids with less than 22 hours to go). Then I put in one of the above movements. Vintagize the case, dial, hands, put on a vitagized strap, voila! Cheap vintage Pam homage! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

In other words, lume that screams at night but during the day is accurate vintage looking? I love lume but think that the watch to be faithful to the idea, should have very weak lume, if at all.
