mohmyster 0 Posted September 28, 2011 Hi All, I have seen an advert for a watch for sale and wanted some advice. Its a Patek Phillippe watch and I quite like it, can anyone help me and tell me what model it is? and what it is worth paying as a price guide for one of these? Im not sure if its over priced. All advice will be appreciated - even if you think the watch is crap! Not had one yet and am getting into watches and feel this is going to an expensive interest! Its priced at £125 ($194) originally and has been dropped down to £99 ($154). Cheers in advance

honeybear 0 Posted September 28, 2011 (edited) If you want something similar to a genuine Patek with dual time capability, try to find a replica of this watch: In fact, I'm very sure that there's a replica of the ladies version of the Time Traveler: I've seen it quite a number of times on Taobao.com Edited September 28, 2011 by honeybear
narikaa 129 Posted September 29, 2011 What youve been looking at is a manifestation of a bizarre Chinese business manouver This is the hull of a 'Philip Stein' rep, but as no doubt the 'Philip Stein 'o philes' out there didn't snap up nearly enough of them and hey Patik Firrip is a seller .....so stamp em up uncle Ho and lets get selling When these don't fly out the door as anticipated (which of course they wont) watch for the 'Cartier' incarnation & then when the barrel's really getting scraped 'Diesel' for this is the usual downward spiral. Ho hum .
Monsieur_B 0 Posted September 29, 2011 "the fuck is that??" Honestly it's plain ugly, give yourself some time fella, and browse the forum for some nice brands. I am courious if you get hooked up on PAMs or Rollies or both.

Ho hum Yes, I've noticed that, I've definitely seen Glashutte Original Senator Sixties being printed with the Patek name and sold on Taobao. In fact, many of the popular replica Patek chronographs have a guilloche dial, which is something I've never seen on a genuine Patek, but is common on a Breguet or Chronoswiss. They exist. Mostly in a sun ray or wave pattern. Patek has a pretty wide range of designs. But try Ref 5098P for a start. That is all about guilloche. schmooze 0 Posted October 3, 2011 I spotted a similar watch with a Nike label in Shenzen not so long ago. It was right next to the Nike dinner setting.

Thanks for the reference, I guess thinks like the 5153 have the sunray pattern you mentioned, and the 5160 has an interesting pattern I can't quite describe, but the 5098 is the first one I've seen where the guilloche pattern is on most of the dial, as opposed to just the center, as is the case on the 5153 and 5160.
