KeNnY 29 Posted September 29, 2011 Amazing ..... this I must make. Remember once I pressure tested an empty 1 / 2 liter plastic bottle of Coke .... Anybody want to guess what pressure we measured before it exploded? 7 atm? I bet 3 ATM.. if you pressure this bottle WW used it will explode after 6 Bars As you say bottle-eater hehe All your bottles belong to my stomach.

Believe it or not, the bottle exploded at 18 atm! Absolutely incredible

mianos 0 Posted September 30, 2011 I do the secondary fermentation for my apple cider in coke bottles. They can stand a hell of a lot of pressure. I have seen one slowly over a few weeks expanded so the bottom was round. Best not do experiments like this, sticky smelly fluids under pressure, in the lounge. offshore 0 Posted October 7, 2011 No one needs to find out the limits to explosion here guys. Please...this is VERY dangerous! I played around years ago building personal filters for hookah divers out of PVC water pipe...we had one let go at 4atm, which did major structural damage to a room and was very lucky not to kill a couple of guys. So be ULTRA cautious, and don't go chasing limits, you don't need to test below 100 ft = 3atm gauge or 4 atm absolute. Now 3atm is only 44psi, and there is seriously no need to pump any more pressure than that. So 50 psi is more than plenty. If a watch passes at 3atm, it will almost certainly pass to the limits of air breathing social divers. And pro's will be seeking better assurances than a Coke bottle test! This is seriously dangerous stuff, and not to be played with. Take it from a former CMAS 5 star dive instructor, and someone who has dived commercially. Pihlippe 1,264 Posted November 5, 2011 Thanks, is the bottle a drinks bottle? It is exactly THIS BOTTLE What is the diameter of the opening? Have trouble finding a suitable one. Should be at least 55mm, since I like big watches.

It is very dangerous to put pressure on things that are not designed for this. Pressure testing of the Coke bottle I refer to, was done in a controlled forms of Technological Institute in Oslo, in connection with a course I went to, for pressure testing and inspection of equipment for diving. TRANSPORTER 1 Posted June 13, 2013 I'm intrigued with this little bit of kit, and can see myself making it soon, I've got my Silix specials that I can waterproof first, just to see how my work stands up to pressure, only want them proofed enough for say the shower and a bit of swimming so I won't be going mad with the pressure. WebWind 1 Posted June 17, 2013 This bottle can easily stand 3 ATM. If your watch pass the test at 2 ATM there should be not problem with swimming.
TRANSPORTER 1 Posted August 12, 2013 Ok guys I've got the bottle the pump the valve the drill and bit. I've even got some silicon grease for my seals, I'm gonna make this in the next few days and hopefully testing a Silix $35 submariner, and then try and waterproof it to a nice 2.5bar which is fine for showering/swimming etc, fingers crossed now

TRANSPORTER 1 Posted August 17, 2013 Ok just to finish this post off, as some of you may if already seen my other post, I have now made and tested this pressure tester, and I can say it works.
zinnboy 0 Posted June 11, 2014 Can you do this with a dry kind of oil? What if there is a leak and it goes into your watch?
