Baume et Mercier Riviera Strap Dilemma

Recommended Posts

So, I have this very nice B et M Riviera:

I love the watch as it is different than any watch I own, but I want to get another strap for it. Because of the non traditional lugs, this is difficult, and so far too expensive.

I first inquired at APB straps in France. They wanted 400 Euro to make a custom black gator strap.. they also wanted me to send them the rubber strap off the watch to use as a guide. Too much money and I am not going to risk losing the only strap that fits the watch.

I then inquired at B et M USA and they told me that that watch was only available on rubber or bracelet, and the cost of the bracelet is $650. (I paid $1300 for the watch).

I had also ordered a cheapy rep Riviera on bracelet. The bracelet was ho hum so I sold it on.

I really want a black gator strap made for the watch and the fabrication would definitely require the rubber strap to be used as a template, so I need someone in the USA. Any thoughts.

Donerix perhaps?

if not, I would send it to Uwe (timebandit). Best out there IMO.....but he is in Germany if I remember correctly.

Can't you do a copy with your dental equipment?

(don't know the correct english word for it)

The pink stuff, you have to bite on for a dental impression....

then fill it with latex...
