hk45ca 0 Posted August 23, 2009 i got a big surprise friday night about 7:30. my ad called and said they had a white ss daytona for me. i almost fell out of my chair, i have been waiting for that phone call for 5 years. at first i though the sales lady was just messing with me. she calls every now and again wanting to know if i am interested in a certain watch because i bought from them in the past. i said your kidding right? she started laughing and then i thought, yeah, she is just jacking me up a little. then she said no, i have it here for you. they hadn't seen a ss daytona in 3 years and my other ad hadn't seen one in 4 years. i had pretty much accepted the fact that the call would never come, last year even went as far as calling rolex headquarters in new york and complaining. needless to say i was floored. obviously i am very happy and as a old friend of mine would say, LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!!! i will quite babbling now and show my normal crappy pics. a couple at the ad! today i got it out and wiped all the finger prints off of it from everybody fondling it. i haven't pulled any of the stickers off of it yet as i am just savoring the moment. and lastly a family photo!! houndoggie 58 Posted August 24, 2009 Nice pick up! My good friend found the exact same Daytona in Maui at an AD just sitting in a case and he picked it up.. Very nice watch. In L.A. you can see this watch in every decent watch shop, especially in Beverly Hills. if your ad's have them sitting in the case for msrp none of the california rolex forum members know about it. they are always looking with a fine tooth comb. every time someone posts that over there it always turns out the watches are either used or have a hefty mark up on them. if they are brand new ss daytona's sitting in the case at msrp you would do well to buy them all. the cheapest v series on the bay is 1,000.00 more than i paid with no warranty. very lucky! congratulations :( is $9925, normal retail or AD's price + premium? it is retail for a new v series. Honestly - I never look up on the prices, but it's true - I saw white Tonas here many times.
