KBH 7 Posted August 26, 2009 I was going to do a little review but lost my motivation to sit down and think for that long. So instead I'm just gonna post a bunch of pictures I took. Maybe later I'll come back with some more comments. I bought this from Josh and paid a little more. I was curious to see wheter his lume was as is showed on his web site. Well, it's absolutely the same as Hont's and everyone else's. As usual josh was excellent to deal with, even though he costs a little more.

AustinTech 0 Posted August 26, 2009 Very nice. When you get a chance, please let us know about your impressions of the watch. Fit and finish, ect. You know the stuff. Looks good, that is for sure.
P_Diddy 0 Posted August 26, 2009 is this one by KBH, an automatic movement? all the UN watches on Robert's listings are quartz movements.
KBH 7 Posted August 26, 2009 Robert told me earlier when we were talking about Hont that he had it for $129. I really don't know for sure if it's in stock, though. By then I'd already bought it. AT: Fit and finish is excellent. It's as nice as any one I've owned. Movement is 21j w/ working PR meter that supposedly was developed just for this watch. At least that's what Josh says. Comfortable rubber strap, I just wish it had more micro adjustments. It either feels too loose on one hole and a little tight on the next one. I'm debating about trying to put another set of spring bar holes in the clasp. Also the clasp is very nice and feels quite solid. Snaps together well. houndoggie 58 Posted August 26, 2009 is this one by KBH, an automatic movement? all the UN watches on Robert's listings are quartz movements. I see a battery in there!!!! It is under all those gears and jewels and the big rotor.
KBH 7 Posted August 26, 2009 Awww snap. THe blue is callin' me! How's the rotor on the 21J? Loud? When you swirl it by your head you can hear it. I haven't noticed any noise while on the wrist, though. Louder than some but not annoying, by any means.
AllergyDoc 40 Posted August 26, 2009 I dunno... Looks like one of those watches that you're real excited about at first, but because it's so ________ (blue/yellow/orange) you end up selling it because you never wear it. The Paul Picot was like that for me.
KBH 7 Posted August 26, 2009 I dunno... Looks like one of those watches that you're real excited about at first, but because it's so ________ (blue/yellow/orange) you end up selling it because you never wear it. The Paul Picot was like that for me. I don't think so Doc. Although I do agree with you on yellow/orange. This one is really subdued on your wrist. The dial looks almost black when you see it at an angle and the strap is almost as gray as it is blue. And it's roughly the size of a Sub so it doesn't look overpowering. I think this is gonna be a keeper for a while. One very small annoyance to me is that at a quick glance it's sometimes kinda hard to pick out the hands on the dial since you're looking for 2 white blobs on blue hands that seem to fade into the color of the dial. Especially if one or both hands are down around the 6 marker where it's a little busy. If you did decide to sell it, the strap could be a big problem for someone with a small wrist. Once you cut it to fit you're pretty much f***ed.
AllergyDoc 40 Posted August 27, 2009 You're a DJ kind of guy... You'll be selling it soon...
KBH 7 Posted August 28, 2009 The DJ's are for playing dress up. Nice restaurants and that kind of stuff. My everyday is SSD or 42mm PO. But the Blue Surf (can we call it the BS?) has been on my wrist a lot since it arrived.
NFleischer 4,355 Posted August 28, 2009 it seems nice for the price. honestly i don't think anyone will be confusing it for the gen. there are a few guys at RW2 including Robbie who had the gens. they are really stunning, especially with the s/s bracelets. Member X 91 Posted August 28, 2009 I'm still not sure I 'get' UNs - they appear to be very well made and somehow quite clean looking despite having quite fussy dials, but... They just don't sing to me! I always thought that of Rolex in general though and now I'm quite liking them so perhaps it's just a developing taste thing lol The one above looks good though, and incredibly detailed for £100! Member X 91 Posted September 11, 2009 Just wondering... how's the sweep on the second hand? I assume the gen is high beat but with a small seconds hand like this I can't imagine there's much different to a 21.6 or 18.8 movement...
