New week wrist check w/c 21st November 2011

For the smartass you normally are I thought you'd at least get 3 digits right

Obviously the numbers are more important to you than me. to me it's just another dopey Panerai, just pretty enough on the strap to prompt me to take a photo,the numbers are as irrelevant to me as the people who attach any degree of import to the model number, now, if that concludes your interjection, I'm quite sure there's a draughty railway platform or airport observation deck that's just waiting for you to turn up with your curly-eared sandwiches, bottle of flat lemonade, anorak and well-thumbed notebook :clap:

PS, ..is that smartass enough for you :)

If you don't care for the numbers why do you include them in your post at all?

You could just have posted "Kick-ass Panerai by Hugh Fakename"

Baldrick

Because when I save it in my Panerai folder, I save it as a 111, which differentiates it from a Radiomir, Submersible or California, 111s don't have names, regardless of dial configuration, colour or anything else, they're all just variations on a 111, same as a Datejust.

PS, I didn't include it in my post, Flickr does that, I simply give it a file name.

Now, have you gotten any interesting engine numbers or heard any interesting cockpit conversations, now run along, I don't know why the sky is blue, :clap:

But why you save it as a 111 if it's a 005?

Because I can, to you, it's an 005, to me it's just another 111, I've already explained that, however, your solitary brain cell seems incapable of processing this info, :clap:

Akira, you've obviously got a feather up your arse, so as it's important to you, I've renamed it, happy now.....

Del

A more humourous than usual wrist check thread this week! :P

@ Baldrick - that's a really nice strap on your 005 111 Panerai. :D

Thanks Andy :D

:P Am I missing something :D

Was just gonna say what a nice sea dweller that was but looking more closely I guess it goes in the Rolex Sub type box - just a variant :)

Hublot4000, you got that Baldy? Or should we repeat?

I mean 4 digits are way harder to remember than 3 digits.

Four-Thousand

Four-O-O-O-O

One-, two-, three-, four-thousand!

Baldrick, stop searching the internet for something smart.

Why would I need to resort to the Internet, when all I have to do is look on the desktop and there's my handy folder 'Dicks" and there you are...bingo..!

You always take forever to come up with something.....

Yeah, but when I do, your 11 watt bulb, just gets snuffed out altogether B)

PS...I use a great little program called ReNamer, it's brilliant, and guess what, ALL my Panny photos that were in the '111' folder have now been re-named in your honour, hope you like these '111s', :D

Now, you've given me endless seconds and humongous titters and giggles, but really, I'll have to ignore you some other time, I have masses of Panerai folders that require me to change my file-naming conventions, sorry I can't linger. :popcorn:

@Del, thanks, turkey leg, ( no, that's not a pop at you ) ;)

@GBOGH...s'not a flame-fest, it's just a little banter and some illumination for Akky :D
