I'd go with the 351. It's drop dead gorgeous, will add some more variety to your collection, and will be easy to sell on at a good price if you decide you don't like it.

@powder: may I suggest the new 42mm Explorer II as an alternative? $118 plus shipping for the Asian21J version just like this.

I have the Seawolf, definitely first choice if only the dealers have it. The AP Diver is nice with the rubber strap, and since I'm biased to PAMs lately, that 351 looks stunning. I didn't feel any love with the DSSD, had one and the "magnifying glass" effect in some angles is not my thing, and IMO the glossy dial is less desirable than the sub ceramic dial.

Thanks folks!

I see the 351 seems to be popular, so I should be safe ordering one :) In fact I have already decided on ordering one soon.

With Swatch not supplying any ETA movements I expect rep prices to go up a bit, that's why I still tend to buy the Cartier as a second watch - it's already quite expensive, so that would make a good argument ;) Other than the Cartier only the AP diver is left, or I will have to go with another Chrono (very unlikely).

Sub, DSSD or another Omega are out of the game, as well as the (unavialable :( ) Seawolf. And since I already have one GMT watch the Explorer is no real alternative atm.

You can get the AP Diver with the SW mov't. It's a nice watch and gen Swiss mov't, not cheap either but its as good as alot

of lower end gens I'm sure.

Oh well, the AP Diver is on par with the Cartier, right after the Pam (which I will order soon :)).

The Diver is the more rugged watch and having one with a rubber would be nice (since my Hublot from/to Robert is missing and could be lost), then again the Cartier would be nice dresswatch (w/o being too dressy for a young man). It would be best to try both and keep what I like most, but that's not going to work with my current budget.

Update:

Jeff has some problems with his 351, that story is keeping me from ordering one...

And since my Hublot is gone now, the AP is second (need a replacement with rubber strap).

Question for the experts: Does the Diver with asian mov't differ from the one with swiss mov't? AFAIK they are the same, but if someone knows better, please let me know!

Just a little update: Pam 351 (older version with better CP) and a Seiko 5 FFF incoming. Next up would be the AP diver, but I am not sure any more. Atm folks can still believe that I wear a gen, not a rep - but a guy in his early 20s sporting a 10k+ watch? Meh, just screams rep.

Either way I have asked Reg to look for one of those quartz Tags while he is in the far east. And hey, who knows, maybe the Pam bug got me after all

New purchases aside, I am thinking of getting rid of either the vintage Seamaster or the SOH Chrono, maybe even both. And tbh the more I think about that, the more it makes sense: I could live with my PO for weeks without missing anything - and considering that I still have the GMT for Sundays, the SMP as a Chrono and some cheap gens, selling could indeed be right.

Edit, just to add what I already said somewhere else:

I often realize that while I love and admire them all (both in the box and at my arm), I rarely change my watches. Circulating my watches on a regular basis only to justify keeping them all is pointless imo. As a poor student, there are many other things to spend my money on: Booze, chicks, fuel, maybe even books :giggle:

(Sorry for bumping this thread again and again, but it helps me to decide where I want to go with my collection and keeps me from spending too much.)

Breitling. Skyland or Avenger is a must have!

Edit: Looks like per the results that the Avenger is full-on in the lead. :)

AP Diver would also be out based an availability. There are no V2 with Swiss movements to be had from an TDs

Ultimate Santos (non-chrono) is the most comfortable watch I own. Feels like gen for sure. I have a Seawolf as well which I love.

Thanks for all your comments - I have a Pam 351 and really love it.

Before I get something else I will have to sell one or two that I don't wear...

Not decided yet.

I have a YM with a crown that is a bit stiff. It was for my GF but she wants an Explorer I now. That YM has to go for sure.

But more than the YM - I am very indecisive to be honest.

It would make most sense to sell the SOH Chrono, after all it's about the same size as the PAM and has a brown dial and strap, too.

But I also have a vintage Seamaster on Nato. Looks awesome, but I don't really wear it (wears very light and small).

Maybe I should put them up for sale and see what happens. I could always keep the last one available :D
