The BAD ASS PARNIS...

47mm PVD Power Reserve automatic PARNIS!!!!!!

Got this from Ebay for a buy it now of $93. Our friend Tat has the same watch in brushed SS, so I am sure he could secure the PVD for you as well.

It isn't the killer matte PVD, but look good nonetheless. 24mm lug width means that I have lots of strap options because the pilot style strap it came with is mediocre, though it has a PVD deployant clasp.

Crystal is mineral with pretty decent AR. The dial is dark grey with a slight sunburst radial texture that looks sharp. The major indices, the numbers, and the hands are all lumed (lume shot soon.)

So if you are tired of people laughing at you little dinky white PARNIS, I would suggest picking up this Big Black PARNIS to shut them the fuck up.

My arbitrary score is 91/100.

I bet that people wanna grab that black PARNIS just to feel how heavy it is. I really like the Power Reserve, now you always know how long your PARNIS will last.

That sunburst effect is nice :D Good pick up!

How noisy is the rotor? From the two Parnises (parni?) I've got, they're both noisy as hell as they seem to 'scrape' round the edge of the movement.

Noisy, but I will grease it up.

Now you are making me feel insecure about my little white PARNIS.

Do a tutorial about how to lube your black PARNIS.

Seriously, show us how to lube a rotor.

Getat has it in brushed SS. I am usually not a PVD fan, but this watch looks right with it.

Remove caseback, unscrew rotor screw, remove rotor, use some ball bearing grease and apply it to the bearing with a needle, toothpick or small screwdriver.

then give the ball bearing a few turns and apply more grease, wipe it clean, remount the rotor, screw the rotor screw back in, remount the caseback.

That's the way I do it anyway.

Watch is stuning and it doesn't even seem like 47 mm. Strap is also really nice, just the right one.

Hang on: It says "Chronometer" on the dial - Is this watch REALLY running at COSC spec, for less than a ton??!

Congrats hd. These Parnis guys know what they're doing. Other than Orient, for the money, I don't think there's a better automatic out there. I got mine a few weeks ago. That black pilot looks awesome though.

Nice watch, HD!! I've purchased several homages and steriles on the 'Bay and have been very satisfied with their build quality and presence. It's good place to cruise if you can't find what you want here. Wear it well.

houndoggie, I have to ask.

It's been more than 2 years since you had this watch. How is the PVD finish holding up on the Parnis?

I have always been curious!
