JohnG 41 Posted September 16, 2009 Just checked the watches. From 21:00 GMT to 23:00 GMT (26 hours): The Elgin lost 3 minutes 50 seconds - I will have to adjust it, now I have something else I have to learn to do... The Illinois lost 13 seconds (pretty amazing that a watch made in 1918 not only works but keeps time like that!).

JohnG 41 Posted September 17, 2009 Got a Waltham last night, 1918, runs for about fifteen seconds, stops, seller says balance spins freely (that is the biggest fear on these, the balance staff is not easy to replace I have read), he believes it needs servicing is all. So I bought this one to service, this will be a guinea pig... for $26 plus $4 shipping to Boston (will pick it up at Christmas): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...IT#ht_502wt_962
