p-lund 0 Posted September 4, 2009 hi i have a question(may sound stupid to some, but i got to know) about the miyota mvt. is it quartz or automatic ? i have seen some reps that are pretty lowpriced, but still looks good if you don´t wanna pay too much for it. is it something to go for, and if it´s auto - how many bph, and is it reliable? thanks. KBH 7 Posted September 4, 2009 It's the Japanese equivalent of the DG 2813 and low beat. At least the one that I have come across is a rep. But it allows the seller to talk about high quality Japanese movement.
JohnG 41 Posted September 4, 2009 They make automatic and quartz. The beat rate would depend on the movement, but probably low beat if its in a rep.
sconehead 5 Posted September 4, 2009 I think the DG movements are based on the Miyota 82xx series auto movement. Nanning also produce the NN28/NN38 series, which are also supposed copies of the Miyota . Mind you they do many models including quartz, the OS 20 is used in a lot of quartz chrono reps. Here's the Miyota product page,http://www.citizen.co.jp/miyota_mvt/download/index.html#0S20 and a brief description of the DG 2813, http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi...&China_2813

sconehead 5 Posted September 5, 2009 The only reason I know this stuff is because I did a post a while ago on RWI...Yes, you're right...I'm sad...I golf as well...think I'll take your advice and wake the missus up...
trailboss99 994 Posted September 5, 2009 The Miyota is a fine MVT in it's better forms. Note however that any rep seller offfering them is proberly having you on. Usualy one of the tells of a scam site. Which dealer are you looking at mate? Col.
offshore 0 Posted September 6, 2009 Actually Col, I spotted a whole raft of reps in GZ today running Miyotas. Low beat, not bad quality stuff, and available for $50 and better. O/S
trailboss99 994 Posted September 6, 2009 Well there you go! Don't see many here. Pity as it's a good MVT. Have a good day mate? Col.
KBH 7 Posted September 6, 2009 Somebody gave me a real bad, I mean really bad Rolex rep that they found in the back seat of their car and I was surprised to open it up and see a Miyota movement inside.
