They take a Bic-type lighter on high, so the flame is long, and run it up and down the surface of the bag (fairly quickly). No melt = Leather, Melt = Plastic. Maybe as some have said it just has a pleather feel etc even though it's leather,is there not somewhere you can take it locally to a leathersmith or the like and see what they say. Yes I know it's a rep just chat them up before showing them. If you were in the UK I would say go to a local Market but not sure what the equivalent would be for you. My point being that if it isn't leather then KB has definitely supplied you false goods and you are entitled to a refund, but if it is leather then looks like you may have to just bite the bullet and accept you paid far too much for a rep. Does seem bloody expensive even if it is fantastic, it's still a rep at the end of the day and the Mark up on it will be horrendous, as it will have cost pence or a few pound at most to manufacture initially. I definitely wouldn't pay that for one unless it was the gen!!! But anyway find out if Its genuine leather, leather guys who work with it will know instantly. This idea makes sense.... consider taking it into a local shoe repair shop, tell him you are being sold this, but are not sure if it is leather or synthetic. I have had many wallets, shoes, jackets, etc. Also, regardless what an expert at shoe store says, this thing is crap and I wouldn't be caught dead in public with it. May be you should have waited until you had contacted ken about a refund and gone through that process and then eventually if he refused you then for no good reason, complain.
