Luthier 1 Posted November 21, 2008 Julian Kampmann in Germany is probably the best dealer for Russian watches. He is not the cheapest but neither is he anywhere near the most expensive, and he has the BEST after sales service. He also will only only work on watches sold by him (many Russian watches have Russian movements loosly based on Valjoux movements not manufactured since the 60's - so finding a competent watchsmith to work on them is not that easy). So buying from his has the distinct advantage of gaining access to one of the few specialists on these watches when it comes time for servicing... I did lots of research on dealers before I bought from him and he had far and away the best overall reviews. http://www.poljot24.de/en/index.html Good dealer, thanks for info!! But he doesn't have this model, and his prices are waaaay to high. I'm trying to contact my friends, who, possible, can buy it directly from the factory. It will take time, but it worth to wait. We'll see.

In the case of my watch (which came from the old Moscow Watch Factory (now Poljot), it is because they bought all their tooling from the Swiss in the 60's. jameo210369 0 Posted November 22, 2008 You have to admire them Russians, they are so proud of their watches, most are trying to make there watches the same as Rolex, Breitling, Tag etc but the Russian watches all have as standard a minimum of 18 jewel movements and I love the way they keep the engraving in Russian. Although you can now get European Poljots, I would still go for the original Russian ones. Nice collection JG, how is the house going mate? and thanks for the email

I would have poured concrete yesterday but the driver for the concrete pump said the ground was too soft to get the pumping truck in... so I will wait till I come back from the States in Jan...
