Breitling Superocean Abyss Red (Eye candy)

Recommended Posts

madcatlancelot

The new Breitling Superocean Abyss is one of the new watches released in 2010. It's the latest model in the Superocean line and has a totally new look and a array of color schemes. I've seen Del's blue Abyss with his usual stunning photos and frigpig's teardown review of his white Abyss, and decided that I will be picking up this watch some time soon.

I ordered the red Abyss having been undecided which color scheme to choose. The watch arrived few days ago and glad that I picked this watch. And without further intro, let me share you some photos of the Superocean Abyss red.

Hot Singapore weather today, why not give the Abyss a bath...

The Superocean Abyss has an excellent AR coating.

The caseback is very well made, just like most of the rep Breitlings that came before.

The rubber strap is thick and soft, the tang buckle has the embossed Breilting logo, and the usual vanilla smell from a certain factory.

The bezel and the dial is a joy to look at.

And of course, the mandatory wrist shot.

Big thanks to Doris and Angus @ Puretime for picking this nice watch, this sure deserve's to be in Puretime's Bull's eye Zone.

Hope you enjoyed the short photo shoot, thanks for reading. :)

These look good in blue, yellow & red. I like!

I'm in 2 minds whether to mod my current SOSF or just grab an Abyss.

Thanks guys, the Abyss is an amazing watch in every detail. While the AP diver lacked the lume application in the rehaut, the Abyss has it.

Lume shot added, very short exposure and still the lume glows like a torch. 1/15sec, F4, ISO1600.

Great looking watch, really nice dial, easy to read.

I would really have problems with deciding which dial to get if I would be buying

Very nice mate - love it in red too! :thumbsup2:

I was looking at the gens earlier today in an AD's window thinking that my rep looks exactly the same! And the gen was circa £2.5k

Nice watch! I had the yellow, but sold it because I felt it was just a little too small... enjoy!

thanks hwg, it's a thicker than normal nato strap that I picked up today, I saw a few color combo as well (yellow, blue, green, army green, gray middle accents). :)

Love the nato! I think a mesh would look awesome as well.

I guess I can pull the trigger on this one after all!

thanks guys and gals! This is a nice spring/summer watch with either the rubber or nato strap, a touch of color for a change from my mostly PAM collection.

Lately I've been leaning towards smaller watches again, before the abyss came, I've been wearing the old seadweller. And i have a 42mm PO with orange numbers in the mail....the PAMs will take the back seat for now (ok, maybe just for a month).

Great watch. But I think this watch looks best on the bracelet. And I'm not a bracelet guy (and certainly not a polished bracelet guy).

Any thoughts on a leather strap for this?
