ImageCave and Ripway are dead

Recommended Posts

RolexAddict

Hi guys,

I am not very active right now, I am very busy in the gen life.

The problem :

Since almost 72 hours there is no response from both ImageCave and Ripway images hosting.

I have already talk here about these people and their very bad services. Fortunately I stopped to pay $20 for 6 months hosting period, I just fight to manage multi free accounts with multi email adresses and passwords... to keep my pics alive here on this board.

I hope they will be back soon as all my pics here are hosted by them.. If not, if they are complete dead, I will not have the time to care and restaure all what I have published here,

The worse, 2 times I tryed to connect this morning, 2 times I got 2 trojan attack blocked in time by my antivirus, I am really worried :thumbsup2:

Yes, Imagecave doesn't work for me, either. No Trojan attack, though. I guess only the French get Trojans. :thumbsup2:

I've been using Flickr since Swissaddict recommended it. No limit to uploads, easy to use, and about $25 a year. They also don't degrade the picture quality.

Don't panic too hard just yet. Imagecave and ripway are both hosted by Ripside Interactive, who have had a major network outage (the primary switch that connects them to the internet backbone has failed).

For a datacenter / hosting company with such a heavy hosting load, they're rather small and reports suggest that they don't have enough backup hardware to get them back in business immediately - they may be having to ship in a new primary switch from Cisco or Juniper. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.
