visionary 0 Posted October 19, 2009 I'm new to RWG, but I acquired a serious dysfunctional watch-buying habit while on vacation in China earlier this year. I've made all of the classic newbie mistakes, including getting fleased once by one of the "Review" sites. Since finding some of the forums I've learned a lot. I'm not one to be timid, and so I've purchased enough of the basic tools to make timing adjustments and bust a couple of watches too! I enjoy aerial photography and after I get a macro lens for my Canon 5D, I'll be able to share some of my watches with you. I'm a ham radio operator, pilot, and now, a watch freak. My Acetimer is filled to the brim! Thanks! Visionary

visionary 0 Posted October 20, 2009 Welcome aboard!!!Where been in China, and where did you buy watches there? My wife and I visited Beijing, Xi'an (Terra Cotta Warriors), and finally Shanghai. We had a wonderful time. It was in a open market in old Shanghai where I finally found reps that were'nt totally the Canal Street junk. I still ended up with a couple of poor pieces nonetheless. I brought home Chairman Mao's (a waving Chairman Mao) and a few other watch reminders of China. Certainly, the watches grabbed my interest.
visionary 0 Posted October 20, 2009 Hi visionary, welcome to the forum. Plenty of watch addicts here, enjoy your stay. I take it if you have watch box from acetimer your American?? Yes, I'm American, but also speak fluent German. Yes, my Acetimer will wind 4 watches and statically display another 5 watches (9 total). I can also put another 6 or so in a second drawer underneath. I have one open slot now because I gave my son a Super Sea Dweller over the weekend. So far, both of my sons, and my sons-in-law have new watches because I've come across something better!
