cobn 0 Posted March 14, 2012 Hi folks, i just recieved my Red Submariner from Narikaa, iam very pleased, but unfortunatly the Loupe or the Chrystal is ?agley?. either the loupe is agley or the chrystal must be turned some degrees.. whats the easiest way to fix that problem? kenny? wiz? any idea? kind regards Borat
Amit 72 Posted March 14, 2012 you could try yourself, if you like. just need a chefs mini blowtorch and uv glue. or of course you could send to wiz or kenny
Crusader 0 Posted March 14, 2012 Maybe you could remove the cyclops? One solution, there are few ways to remove it. Watch really looks nice, can I ask how much was it?
Luthier 1 Posted March 14, 2012 Easier to reset a whole glass. If you'd turn it clockwise a few degrees - it will match the line.
cobn 0 Posted March 14, 2012 i think the blowtorch isnt an option, cause its plexiglas. (should be..) @crusader: 68Pounds + 8Pounds shipping. great watch. absolutly fantastic. going to right in narikaas feedback section asap! right Luthier, thats what i thought of first. but how do i do that

Member X 91 Posted March 15, 2012 You will have to remove the guts, push the crystal out, then re-press it in the right position, by my reckoning...
Wiz 0 Posted March 15, 2012 You will have to remove the guts, push the crystal out, then re-press it in the right position, by my reckoning... You reckon correctly mate. Depending on how the watch is built you may have to remove the bezel as well.
cobn 0 Posted March 15, 2012 Thank you guys! i'll try my best today, hopefully i dont screw up the keyless work.
Member X 91 Posted March 15, 2012 I always try to work over something material but not fluffy, such as a teatowel, a bit ruffled up rather than laid out smooth. That means that small parts are 'caught' before they bounce anywhere, and no fluff means no issues! Just my working methods on the table at home, though. Wiz would probably have a fit if he saw it

cobn 0 Posted March 16, 2012 Well well well..as i said, i made it to the finals but i forgot to take some serious pictures in the process :( anyway, thats what i did: uncrewed the caseback with my bare hands (hulk you know..) took out the movement and removed the crystal with a gently tab. only glued on one spot. so, the watch torn apart, i popped out the bezel insert and started my work of vintage-heaven... kind of took some sandpaper and made some "damage" to the insert. i tried to fade the color like this but it looks like my acid-toilet-cleaner-fluid didnt worked that well at all i think i need real bleach. anyway, the holder-ring for the pearl now looks like a piece of bronze..kind of cool. re-aligned the cyclops and the submariner was ready to go! thats the result: Next things on my to do list: - drop the bezel-insert in some serious bleach - drop some A1 sauce coffee blood mixture on the dial - smack some rocks on the bracelet PS: may i should always do what Luthier says..
