trailboss99 994 Posted March 20, 2012 When I heard about these I had to see for myself so I got WBK to send me one to have a look at and I think they are going to be very popular with those wishing for "a bigger sub". No, Rolex have never done a 43mm sub but Stan has and it's a ripper! This has considerably more wrist presence than a normal sub, more like a DSSD but not as thick so it sits better on your wrist. The quality is quite good, the pearl is even centred! the bezel markings are a nice gold colour, not the almost yellow I have seen on some ceramic TTs in the past. Date wheel is indexed well, the dates come up centred in the window, dial print is crisp and the lume correctly applied. Lume brightness is that of average rep lume. This is not a light watch, weight with all links is just shy of 180 grams. Here are some crappy pics. No doubt Stan will have some better ones up shortly. A couple of side by side shots with my ultimate SubC: Bezel widths: Width over all (excluding bezel overhang): Length: Width over outside of lugs: Width of first bracelet link: As you see everything is bigger but still in proportion, someone hit "enlarge by xx% in the cad program and this is the result. Neat huh? So all you good folks who were crying out for a bigger Sub, WBKtime has answered your call. Now the only question is, will Rolex bring out a rep of it? greg_r 81 Posted March 20, 2012 I remember that when the DDII came out, the rep factories also started producing a few 41mm DJs as well - despite the lack of a gen at the time. Sure enough, though, the following spring, Rolex repped it! With a 43mm Explorer now available, I gotta wonder whether a sub and/or GMT are also on the cards
solkryssare 109 Posted March 20, 2012 Its a funny thing when the reppers take the gen design to their own level.

trailboss99 994 Posted March 20, 2012 Sorry for the fingerprints over everything guys. I started to shoot this outside and got as far as the first pic before the rain began yet again. You can see the drops in the first shot. I grabbed everything and shot it inside under the skylight with long exposure times and didn't notice the fact I'd messed up the watches I'd only just cleaned until I looked at the pic on the screen.
