P4GTR 0 Posted March 21, 2012 Who was it from? Perhaps the dealer will be willing to ship a new one out upon receipt of return tracking# or something, that way you aren't waiting very long. Perhaps the dealer will sell you a replacement at a discount, and you just keep the broken one and sell it for parts. Maybe take it to a watch smith and let them have a look. It may cost you a few dollars to fix, but you'd have a brand new working watch in a day or two. These are all options I would at least try (worst they can say is no). Returning the watch to CN has always been the last possible solution for me. I've always been able to wind my PAM with the crown guard down. Is this not right? Can it harm the watch? Bad idea, better to open the CG lever.
Balad1 0 Posted March 21, 2012 Sorry for your misfortune but you can turn this into an opportunity to buy another rep to ease the pain...
osteocruncher 0 Posted March 21, 2012 Try to open the crownguard and wind it that way. I received a few watches for repair perfectly working from first time buyers. The watch is from torobravo. I have tried that but it makes a grating sound. Seeing as he is replying on this topic i think i will not be opening the back up.

Thanks Frazzle, It turns out, Belgium where i live is a nightmare for customs. So might not be able to get the HWG watch easily. Still trying to find a suitable delivery route. Frazzle 5 Posted March 21, 2012 On that note are you supposed to open the crown guard to change time and wind? I always do but don't want to wear out the crown guard lever if this is not right. Thanks Noob

onionbag 1 Posted March 21, 2012 Sorry to see you're having a problem osteocruncher. My 111 from Toro had a loose stem and would not disengage from the handset position, he offered to take it back for repair but I just took it to a local watchsmith. 20 mins and £5 later all was fine! Toro will take care of you if it's gubbed.

andjsea 0 Posted March 21, 2012 For shame! You said it has a display case back? Damaged hair spring should not have been overlooked.
osteocruncher 0 Posted March 22, 2012 Took the caseback off to get a better angle of the hairspring movement and as it shows it is warped. Still no reply from toro!!
Member X 91 Posted March 22, 2012 Yikes! Did it just pop out when you opened the case?? Give Toro a bit of time to reply - if he's in china at the moment it's currently 4.30am so I imagine he's in bed...
