JohnG 41 Posted November 2, 2009 I haven't finished two projects I am on (the Combat Luminor needs finishing and the Illinois is barely started, oh and then there's the Elgin), okay THREE, and I just have to get parts coming for another... I decided to do a sterile vintage 6152. Unbranded dial and caseback, unmodded Molnija movement, so no faux engraving on bridges, but still a clone of the Cortebert, so it will be sweet.... I will use a DSN 6152 case set/plexi/hands, undecided on the source for the dial, MM20 cg, and by the time I do this one I hope to be doing my own straps.... Anyway, here is the first part, just won on the Bay for $47 shipped from Bulgaria: It will be unbranded but in all other respects I plan on giving the best vintagers a run for their money - JohnG is a persistent son of a bitch, he will find a way! greg_r 82 Posted November 2, 2009 Nice - I like the Panerai dials and I like sterile dials. Never quite got the point of the Marina Militaire dials - would rather have nothing on them at all.

KBH 7 Posted November 3, 2009 I picked this one up 2 weeks ago from Bulgaria for $37. It hasn't arrived yet, though. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.
Luthier 1 Posted November 3, 2009 My grandad had this watch. It's definitely from 50's. 15 jewels, wow... Molniya mean "lightning". I like this watch. Elegant. Edit: it's year 1954.
phaedo 0 Posted November 3, 2009 And when I read the topic 'JohnG pickup' along with 'vintage', I was picturing something more like this.. However, think the actual pickup is a lot better. Congrats.
