Timebandit 0 Posted April 27, 2012 Hi Guys, I tried to give one of my unused Egis a better look. In my Opinion it comes very close to a bronze lookalike. What do you think ? Thank you for looking Greetz Uwe

fatarms 7,841 Posted April 28, 2012 Thanks, sconey. Have any of you tried it with a stainless steel case as well? I noticed that was titanium. And as a follow up, have you noticed any corrosion or pitting on the surface or any color change since applying the patina? How long ago did you do it? I ask because I may play around with the cheapie silix submariner I bought and have since replaced with a decent 21J from WI. I would want to play around with different mA currents as well to see how that affects it.
Timebandit 0 Posted April 29, 2012 I will make a tutorial when I have some new Egis. But I can tell you that before. Heat the case up with a flame ( use Propan or butan, no oxygen/acetylen ) for about 400 degrees celsius, do it slowly. You can see the change of the colour coming. If the bronze effect is reached, quench it in cold water. No rust, nothing. Greetz Uwe
