JPayne 0 Posted May 9, 2012 To all the trusted dealers out there, has anyone seen solid reps in the works for the amazing Luminor GMT 1950 10-Days? I will throw money at my computer the moment I see one available!! See link below, as the board won't allow me to attach a photo from my iPad. http://www.acquiremag.com/style/watches/panerai-luminor-1950-10-days-g.php
tkeraider 0 Posted May 9, 2012 I would also jump on the opportunity to get this rep. One of my favorite pams.
JPayne 0 Posted May 9, 2012 I would also jump on the opportunity to get this rep. One of my favorite pams. One of my favorites as well. I held one of the 100 genuine models in my hands last night at a local jeweler, who is the only Panerai dealer in my area....and it is STUNNING!!!! Just can't imagine spending $17K+ on the real thing.
tkeraider 0 Posted May 9, 2012 Yeah thats a bit much for me. Many other gens that would come first.
BigBuys 0 Posted May 9, 2012 If it were repped, it would have to be based on a quartz movement cause it would take some heavy handed trickery to get a ten day reserve out of anything mechanical, including a GEN Panerai movement, hence the $17K entry point. DFH 0 Posted May 9, 2012 There are some older version of the 270/10 day out there - 21j movements with either faux or 48 hour working power reserve, and the power reserve indicator had a hollow center and you could see all the way through to the movement. They never looked quite right... The date window was horrible, sunken, wrong font and some even had a white date wheel under the black dial. The 233 /8 day had the same problems. Terrible attempts so far, and since they are very busy dials for a 44mm, everything needs to be perfect. Just my personal opinion...
greg_r 82 Posted May 9, 2012 Not repped - at least not yet. Even if it does get repped, however, expect some limitations as per DFHs post above. The last versions of the 270 and 233 weren't that bad given that there were cheapies, but the sunken datewheel and the faux am/pm complication were something of a giveaway...
