Breitling Superocean Abyss Yellow

Recommended Posts

Luthier

Yes, it is a dumb question.

Asian made in Asia, Swiss made in Switzerland.

More of a dumb answer IMO.

So the only difference is where they are made.. Good to know...

With all the consequences, dumb.

:P

Thank you for the link, interesting read!

Anyway, which of Toro's reps would you choose as your first? PAM 111 w/Asso strap or Breit Superocean Abyss with the yellow rim with this 'Swiss' movement you talk of

If you're asking which one is the better rep then it's the PAM hands down. I really like the Abyss as well but once you get a PAM you'll fall in love with it. It really ins't as bulky as you think, actually pretty slick for the size.

Oh, and to those whining about the nice vanilla smell of the strap that comes with the watch fuck off.

The OR strap is nice looking but it smells like a pile of old tires or something, gonna try washing it and maybe soaking it in some nice EDT or something to get rid of the shitty smell.

hey Mostling..... is this a 42mm watch??? looks like it's about that size suprised you grabbed this one up seeing as your like me and usally a fan of the bigger mm watches. But I can understand why it's a beautiful watch all the same and most likely wears like it's not even there at that size.

Yeh 44mm is more my size but liked this one so much i had to get it but it's pretty nice for a 42mm watch, has a nice weight to it.

I have a Code Yellow incoming that is 44mm so i guess this one will get a long rest once the Code Yellow arrives, also have a DSSD on the way to wear while i send send Code Yellow to Kenny for some modding.

Gotta say that besides the OR strap smelling like shit i'm pretty god damn pleased with it, it made the watch much more balanced and i feel like it has more presence on the wrist now too, so well worth the upgrade imo.

How easy was it to trim the OR strap to size?

I like the deployant clasp on this one. How is it sized to the wrist? Do you trim the rubber?

Lovely looking watch, especially with that strap.

Have always been tempted by this one but just wish it was 44mm or bigger, you get a better impression of it's size when photographed on the wrist and it wears a bit too small for my personal taste. How are you getting along with it seeing as you prefer the larger sizes?

Actually i'm liking it a lot more now with the OR strap, somehow the watch wears bigger with it, and also it became a lot more balanced in comparison with the strap it came with since the watch is pretty heavy even for being a small watch.

So got my first Breitling today and can only say that i'm really pleased with it, maybe a tad small but it'll do.

Plans are to get the Ocean Racer strap with deployant, too bad there ain't a rep with the right 20/18 meassurments, so gonna have to get the 22/20 and trim 1mm on each side of it to fit the lugs, secondly maybe but just maybe have it relumed but not sure about that one yet.

Some quick pics for now, will be taking more when lighting is more favourable.
