Hey Everyone,

Wanted to take a momement and thank everyone for all there great post and helpful information that has had what used to be google search after google search trying to learn about rep watches ending up with no real information into what is now seeming to be a addictive and fun past time of mine. I do need some advice and quick tips from what i've gathered here so far to help me with first purchase. What I'm looking for is the Ultimate planet ocean 45mm with a swiss eta movement and SS band because I saw several cheap rubber and leather straps on the dealers sites. I was thinking about getting a chonograph verison but here lines my few questions. 1. Does the extra hands make it easier to spot as a rep (not setting back to 12 or causing other problems)? 2. I see that a few websites offer a waterproof package that you buy for 50.00 has anyone done this to there watch and does it really make it waterproof like the gen? I'm always on my boat or out in the ocean and would love to actually be able to use it all the time? 3. Do high end rep watches such as josh's or timeshops omega last for many (5 or more) with lots of wear just like the gen would? 4. Does any dealers do the super lum for you before mailing it to you or would i have to get a board member or myself at home do this because I have to admit it looks amazing how some of your guys watches are so bright. 5. lastly is josh or timeshops my best bet for the watch i'm looking for or is there someone or somewhere else I should go to get a high end rep that would last and be waterproof like i'm looking for? Thanks so much for all your help and again thanks for all the great reads on this topic.

Hello and welcome friend, you have many questions, reading and doing your homework will help you in your quest.

My (certainly not ultimate) Planet Ocean Chrono is 4 years old, runs like a sweetie, perfect reset, and was waterproof right out of the box.....get yours tested. ;)

Welcome!! I'd check the trusted dealer > watch international > special price watches section or trusted dealer>Toro Bravo > sale watches. It's easier to start with a few less expensive reps, then later drop big $ once the obsession worsens ... And it will :)

I too would recommend watch international for your first order. Email Mary & Rochest [email protected], tell them you're from here and send them a pic of the watch you want, you'll be well looked after. Check the Trusted Dealer feedback section.

Resume will need the watch sending to one of our modded, which one depends on where you live.

And welcome by the way :)

Hello and welcome.... as we have TDs for watches, there are also TDs for mods including reluming. Wiz is in EU. CLS is in USA.

As far as telling people if they are gen or rep... that question comes up a lot... use the search tool to find some of the more entertaining threads. Its advised that you never try to pass of a rep as gen.

Hello mate welcome to the board.

I'd get the relume done by one of our modders who specialise in this. You might be happy with the standard lume anyway.

read it myself very interesting for sure haha. So does sending off the watch for reluming kind of making paying for waterproofing a waste of money or does our watch goros make everything back to 50m waterproof after they are done reluming the watch? Thanks again for everything

Don't pay for waterproofing from the dealer. When you have your watch just get it tested it may be ok but chances are it won't be. Get it sorted when you get it relumed, on the PO the He valve needs sealing with epoxy, not a job the factory or dealer will do.

First, I would not pay extra for waterproofing from a TD. Some modders can waterproof your watch, and I'm about certain that it would be at extra cost for that on top of the reluming. Best to ask the TD you are working with.

No replicas were seriously waterproof right from the dealer, same with superlume. You should send it to (depend on your location) Wiz, Kenny or CLS for such a service.

And NO, Josh is NOT your best choice, try our trusted dealers.

Hello and welcome! :thumbsup2:

Take your time before ordering. All of your questions are ones we also asked when we were starting out in this hobby (possibly not all at the same time like you though ;) ) and if you spend a bit of time searching on here and reading loads then you will learn and make a more informed choice.

My UPO had a 'swiss eta" movement in it. It was all over the place for time - I messed with it so try and regulate it (big mistake.......) and buggered it. I sent it to Kenny for waterproofing for a great price and sent him a genuine ETA I bought from Cousins. It's been running within 1 to 3 seconds since I had it back. Great service and highly recommended, his lume jobs look the business too.

I found black/black kinda boring, so, I bought pumpkin from WI, and love it all the way.
